Notarial Services - Tel Aviv

Updated: Jul 11, 2023

The American Citizen Services Unit provides notary services for those persons wishing to execute documents in the presence of a U.S. consular officer.  This service is available to both U.S. citizens and non-U.S. citizens who need to have documents notarized for use in the United States.

Appointments are required for all notary services.

Not all documents can be notarized by the U.S. Embassy. Please consult the U.S. Embassy website for more information.

Please be sure to have the following documents, originals as well as copies:

  • Witnesses:

If your document requires witnesses in addition to the notary, you are responsible for providing these witnesses. Consular staff cannot serve as witnesses. Witnesses cannot be a spouse or a relative, and each witness will need photo identification. This is particularly important with regard to last wills and testaments.

  • Signing on behalf of a company or corporation:

If you need to execute a notary service on behalf of a company/corporation, you will need to provide evidence that you have some kind of role in that company/corporation: e.g., CEO, manager, owner, or member. You may present a combination of documents, such as corporate letterhead, business cards, legal papers, articles of incorporation, partnership agreements, letters of guardianship or administration, or your company’s tax returns.

  • $50 per consular seal

All fees are non-refundable. The fee is $50 per signature/seal. The fee is charged for notarizing all types of documents except for forms required by a U.S. government agency (e.g., DS-3053 or certification of savings bonds).

The fee is per consular signature/seal, not per document. For example, you will be charged $150 for a single document that requires the consular officer to sign and acknowledge your signature in three places.

Payment can be in cash, in shekels or US Dollars. Only international credit cards that can accept charges in US dollars are accepted.

Please bring all documents fully completed but unsigned, and ensure you understand them. Please bring all pages of the documents, even if only one page needs to be notarized. Please mark in advance every place that requires notarization and signature.

Please arrive on time for your appointment. The embassy will not honor your appointment if you are late.

Parking:

There is paid parking at the Gordon Parking Lot near the U.S. Embassy Branch Office.

Security requirements at the embassy:

For security reasons the embassy will not allow entrance with any electronic devices, including *phones* and smart watches; bags, briefcases, or backpacks (with the exception of a diaper bag); weapons of any kind; fire-lighting equipment; liquids, sprays, powders, or lip balm. If you bring a water bottle you may be asked to sip it.

There are private companies that rent lockers nearby, which can be used to store your personal items during your appointment.

Good luck with your appointment! I’m here to help with any questions you may have.
